Police Officer Glenn Doss, Jr. was shot and killed after responding to a domestic violence call on January 28, 2018.
Officer Doss was just 25 years old and served with the Detroit Police Department for 2 years. He is survived by his girlfriend, parents and 9-month-old child.
Upon hearing the tragic news, the efforts towards the Give Blue Fundraiser began. A video was launched and inspired countless testimonies to Doss in the comments. We send our deepest thanks to everyone that took part and continues to wear their Thin Blue Line Bracelet in his honor.
“Today is the celebration of a true American hero,” Craig said. “This is what we sign up for. We protect. We serve. And in the face of danger, we act ... he not only served the residents of this city with tremendous tenacity, he served his fellow officers.” - Chief of Police James E. Craig, The Detroit News
A total donation of $5,137.60 was made to the family of Glenn Doss. The donation will continue the dedicated service Officer Doss gave to his department and community.
God bless you, Glenn Doss, Jr. May you rest in peace.
