Police Officer Christopher Ryan Morton was shot and killed while responding to a 911 call on March 6, 2018.
Officer Morton was a veteran of the National Guard. He served as both a reserve officer and full-time officer for the Clinton Police Department for three years. He was 30 years old and is survived by his parents and siblings.
This marked Clinton Police Department's second line of duty death since Police Officer Gary Michael was killed in the line of duty on August 6, 2017. The community of Clinton, MO came together, once again, to offer their support for the family of our fallen hero, Officer Morton. We send our deepest thanks to everyone that participated and continues to wear their Thin Blue Line Bracelet in his honor.
"Ryan was real," his former pastor, Roger Brant said. "He was authentic. He was not pretentious at all ... (and) he was a servant. It's not what he did. It was who he was." - The Kansas City Star
A total donation of $15,772.70 was made to the Ryan Morton Memorial Trust of the U.S. Bank in Clinton, Missouri. His service and sacrifice will never be forgotten.
God bless you, Christopher Morton. May you rest in peace.
